02 – Can I use a harness from one brand and lanyard from another?

According to NR 06, item 6.1.1, it is considered combined individual protection equipment all equipment composed by several devices, which are associated by the manufacturer against one or more risks that may occur simultaneously, and that is likely to threaten the safety and health at work..

The safety harness and the fall arrest equipment (lanyard and fall arrest device) used to protect the user are considered combined PPE, since there is no possibility of using only one of the devices and ensure protection against falls.

03 – Use of equipment with expired CA

Did you know that after the expiration of the CA, when it is not renewed, the use of PPE is still allowed?

As manufacturers of protective equipment, we can only manufacture and sell equipment with an Approval Certificate issued by the MTE and within the expiration date. For products certified under SINMETRO, the validity of the CA depends on INMETRO Certification. Check the full story by clicking here.

04 – Is there a harness for people weighing over 100 kg?

For a person weighing over 100 kg to be able to perform an activity at height, a risk analysis must be performed, taking into account which will be his/her drop displacement, i.e., where is his/her anchorage point located. Whenever we have a fall factor < 1 (anchorage point above the head) your drop displacement is considered safe, not generating an impact force on the body capable of causing injury.
