Tuesday Tip: Confined Space Management Technique

by | 7/04/2015

“33.1.2 Confined Space is any area or environment not designed for continuous human occupation, which has limited means of entry and exit, with insufficient ventilation to remove contaminants or with oxygen deficiency or enrichment.”

The connection points located on the shoulders of the harness are intended exclusively for the removal of victims in confined spaces, with the aid of the trapezium, a device that helps move the victim and enables the rescue of the injured person safely and comfortably, reducing the chances of generating secondary injuries during rescue.

What makes this removal safer is the position of the body in contrast to a removal through the chest or dorsal connection point of the harness, where the angle of the body can reach up to 50°, which can generate complications during rescue.
